Pirelli Seal Inside
As of 03/03/2022 Pirelli states that repair of a self-sealing tyre is down to the discretion of the dealer.
If there is a possibility of peeling back the sealant without damaging the compound of the tyre then it is likely the repair can be performed, however, the tyre’s technology should be versatile enough to self-repair the puncture.
Continental ContiSeal
As of 04/03/2022 Continental states that the sealant within a ContiSeal does not constitute a permanent repair and they always advise repair if penetration occurs as soon as possible.
ContiSeal tyres are classes as a normal tyre in terms of repairing them, as long as the damage has occurred within a repairable area of the tread and there is no secondary damage.
